How I Work

Each client is unique, so there are no hard and fast rules to what approach is best suited for you until we meet and begin the therapy. My overall aim is to facilitate self-knowledge and empowerment. My role as a therapist is to aid the process where you, the Client, can become better equipped to connect with your full potential and, hopefully, blossom, whatever that means to you. My perspective on life and my work is based on the transpersonal, or holistic, view that we are all much more multifaceted and complex than a mere body and brain or mind. This is clear if we simply acknowledge the uniqueness of every individual and will be part of how I work with you.

In our work I will draw on different therapy methods to address the issues you bring, be it looking for personal exploration and growth or a struggle with depression/other mental health problem, addiction or stress, difficult relationships, working through grief or a trauma. The therapy models I use include Transpersonal, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis (TA), and I also use the principles of Existential, Gestalt, CBT, Imago and Human Givens. Coaching principles are built into the therapy and at times we may use creative tools like drawing and dream work.

Successful therapy comes about through mutual respect and commitment. However, I cannot stress enough the importance of you engaging fully and responsibly in the process. You come into therapy because you long for improved relationships and/or mental and emotional well-being and, at the end of the day, you will want results from investing your time and money. Ultimately, though, we heal through relationship, so ours will be of key importance.
